Personal Development Questions for Leaders
Do you have a plan for your personal development?
The answer might make the difference in your ability to influence your family in a positive way.
Unlike a savings account, which grows automatically if left alone, a leader only grows by intentionally and systematically tapping into his/her potential.
I used to think that growth came from life experience and a college degree but we all know people with lots of experience and education who aren't leading themselves, much less anyone else.
I've discovered that personal development comes from gathering as much life experience and knowledge as possible for the purpose of creating life change.
Here are some questions to ask yourself about your plan for improving your influence over your family. - Am I consistently improving my ability to create life change?
- How am I doing that?
- Am I spending time with people who can change my life?
- Do I spend time analyzing both my successes and failures?
- Do I know which areas of my life need changing?
- What am I moving towards?
- What in my life could be hindering change?
- What happens if there is no life change?
- Isn't this automatic?
- What if I want to stay where I am?
- How does the decision to seek life change affect my relationships and my ability to influence my family?
How about you?
Do you have a specific and intentional plan for creating change in your life? Your comments welcome.
