Effective Leadership, Time Management, & Getting Things Done
In my leadership studies, I'm gaining a new perspective on effective time management. For the first time in a long time, I am actually "getting things done" on a regular basis. I have ever increasing amounts of energy, I'm more relaxed, and I'm getting a lot more accomplished with less effort than usual.
Like most men, I enjoy the idea of being successful and taking pride in my work, but I also want to enjoy time with my wife and kids in ways that used to seem impossible when "in my office" all the time. Guess what guys? It doesn't have to be all or nothing! It is possible to enjoy professional success and at the same time becoming a better man, father, and husband. Every man has things in life that he considers important, interesting, and useful. Other things, he finds to be equally important but boring and energy draining. Either way both kinds of things must be done. The idea is to get as much ROI of time and energy invested and to move on to the fun things as quickly as possible with no loose ends. The goal? -- To always be doing what needs to be done at any given moment in a confident manner, knowing with absolute clarity that what I'm currently doing is what I need to be doing. I'm currently reading David Allen's Getting Things Done -- The art of stress-free productivity. It promises to teach me "how to be maximally efficient and relaxed, whenever I need to be or want to be." More to come --

P.S. I use and truly believe in the resources that I mention on this page! Very simply, I recommend them because they work! -- I do receive a commission when you click on one of the links to their site -- It's a nice bonus for telling you the truth and spreading the word about products and resources that improve families by improving leaders.
